WASHINGTON (AP) — The second presidential debate between President Donald Trump and Democrat Joe Biden is formally off.

The nonpartisan Fee on Presidential Debates confirmed Friday that the Oct. 15 faceoff could be scrapped. The choice was made a day after the fee introduced the controversy would happen “just about” as a result of Trump had contracted the coronavirus.

Trump balked at holding the controversy in that format, and Biden scheduled a city corridor with ABC Information for that night time as soon as Trump mentioned he wouldn’t take part.

Trump’s group later countered with a name to carry the debates as scheduled as soon as the president’s physician mentioned he could be cleared to carry public occasions starting on Saturday.

However the fee mentioned it could not reverse its determination to not have the candidates on stage collectively, citing an abundance of warning with well being considerations — significantly for the town-hall-style debate that was set to characteristic questions from common voters.

The third debate, scheduled for Oct. 22 in Nashville, Tennessee, continues to be on.
