Beer Review: Sierra Nevada Oktoberfest

Aug 29, 2018 at 4:44 AM

Beer: Sierra Nevada Oktoberfest

Price: $8.99 per six pack

Appearance: light amber, clear, no head

Aroma: floral, toast, hint of honey

Taste: Sierra Nevada teams with the world‘s oldest brewery, Germany‘s Weihenstephan, to make this beer. It isn‘t like other American Oktoberfests, which tend toward the marzen style. So forget the caramel sweetness of say, Samuel Adams Octoberfest. This is a clean, crisp lager with a maltier profile than a pilsner and more of a biscuit flavor. The hops are perfectly floral, with a slight bite that tells you this beer has a Bavarian accent. Prost.
