Mariah Carey‘s unbothered response to an interviewer’s query is reminding us of an iconic popular culture second.
In a latest interview with The Guardian, the singer mentioned she selected to not make point out of her engagement to billionaire James Packer in her memoir, The Meaning Of Mariah Carey, as a result of, in her phrases, “If it was a relationship that mattered, it is within the e book. If not, it did not happen.”
Clearly, the author was confused with the concept that the practically two-year romance “did not happen,” telling the 50-year-old, “However you have been engaged to Packer.”
However, it appears that evidently the Grammy-winner stood by her assertion that their relationship by no means “mattered”, explaining, “We did not have a bodily relationship, to be sincere with you.”
Welp, there you may have it.
Her blasé response was harking back to the time the singer uttered the now-iconic line: “I do not know her.”
“Her” is assumed to be Jennifer Lopez, though Mariah herself refuses to acknowledge the pop star instantly or not directly due to an unexplained feud. In different phrases, when you cross Mariah, you are formally persona non grata.
