NEW YORK (AP) — Luis Rojas most likely will return for a second season as supervisor of the New York Mets.
Sandy Alderson, who returned as staff president Friday when Steve Cohen purchased the Mets from the Wilpon and Katz households, stated he had spoken with Rojas a number of groups in current days.
Alderson stated it’s “very seemingly” Rojas will stay however added that he “left the door barely ajar” pending his determination on a brand new president of baseball operations.
Alderson fired normal supervisor Brodie Van Wagenen and his high aides Friday.
Cohen stated Monday that he hoped to reinstate Outdated Timers’ Day, which was dropped greater than a decade in the past.
A billionaire who runs the hedge fund Point72 Asset Administration, Cohen stated a baseball staff is completely different from a monetary agency.
“I’m not making an attempt to generate profits right here,” Cohen stated. “It’s about constructing one thing nice.”
